FLAIRS SPEED CHALLENGE 2014
The Flairs Speed Challenge for 2014 was held on Wednesday 2 July 0214 at Bergvliet High School. Almost 100 jumpers from around the Western Cape attended the event, competing to be crowned the King / Queen of Speed for 2014. The morning was filled with fun and laughter as each skipper’s fitness was put to the test. The skippers were judged by the Provinces top judges and the audience got involved in spurring the competitors as they went through each gruelling challenge.
Special appearance routines from 2012 African Championship gold medallist Aimee Cloete from Aerobic Gymnastics and Iman Nacerodien, the karate kid who will be representing South Africa at the Dream Cup in Japan in August at the tender age of 8, made the day of celebrating sport more special. Guest stars of Rugby 7s fame, Kyle Brown, Frankie Horn, Paul Delport and Steven Hunt got the audience involved by challenging them to take part with them, as well as doing the warm up dance with the competitors and giving out prizes, autographs and photographs. The crowd in attendance enjoyed themselves immensely, taking part in some speed challenges, learning to jump double dutch, as well as learning to judge the skippers.
Although a winner was declared in each section, every participant received a t-shirt, pair of shorts, a new rope, a water bottle, a bad and lunch, compliments of our sponsors:

The event received pre-event television coverage on CTV on the WP Sports Federation show on Friday 27 June, and will be covered on CTV in a 26 minute documentary, as well as on Supersport’s Let’s Play show.
Flairs owners Anne Vermaak & Sadicka Isaacs were overjoyed with the outcome of the event. “The morning was so much fun, it was wonderful to see all the talent in Rope Skipping” Sadicka Isaacs who is also the Program Manager for Rope Skipping in Western Cape said: “This was also a great preparation for all the skippers, especially the first time competitors, in the lead up to their Western Cape trials in August”. Vermaak and Isaacs said the day could never have been as much of a success without the assistance of all their sponsors and volunteers.
