Ray Meas represented South Africa at the Suzuki World Cup in Japan from 4-6 June 2011. The tournament was supposed to take place earlier in the year in April, but was postponed due to the devastating tsunami that hit Japan.
Ray did very well at his first FIG World Cup as a Senior, placing 7th in both the qualifications and the finals in the Individual Men category. This gives Ray a good platform for his goal of placing in the top 10 at World Championships in 2012.
Ray will be competing at the National Championships in July and the Summer Universiade together with Rachel Wood in August. He will also be attending trials for World and African Championships in November. Ray is currently a second year MBCHB student at Stellenbosch University.

SRSA SPORTS BUDGET SPEECH
Flairs Gymnastics was invited to do a demonstration routine at the SRSA Sports Budget Speech where the gymnasts showed off their talents to the Minister of Sport.
Well done to all gymnasts who took part, you flew the Flairs flag high!
Rope Skipping Medal
Congratulations to Matthew Cloete (Little Lions) who won Flairs Gymnastics first Rope Skipping medal when he walked away with the bronze medal for Level 1 freestyle at the WP Regional Competition on 14 May 2011.
Matthew also placed 5th in the speed competition which entailed he skip:
This was Matthew’s first Rope Skipping competition and we look forward to his participation at the WP Provincial Competition and trials for Nationals in August.
