The Flairs Winter Display & Speed Challenge was held at Bergvliet High School on 20 May 2017. This year the event was sponsored by The Ukuphumelela Trust in partnership with McDonalds. The theme of this year’s event was proudly African and all music performed to was proudly African. Great fun was had by all at the display where gymnasts from all the classes showed off their skills in an apparatus circuit and a warm up and conditioning dance on the stage.
In between the skippers from around the Western Cape took part in the Flairs Speed Challenge to be crowned the Kind and Queen of Speed. This year saw participation by skippers from the Flairs Schools Project at Blomvlei Primary School, as well as The Pebbles Project and Claremont High School. Other participants hailed from Jump It Rope Skipping Academy and GCU. Masi and his boys from Jump It Rope Skipping Academy also entertained the crowds during the event.

ROPE SKIPPING FITNESS- BLOMVLEI PRIMARY
Wow what a fun and fitness-filled morning we had, preparing the Grade 4-7 learners at Blomvlei Primary School in Hanover Park, to begin their exams whilst introducing them to the Flairs Rope skipping Fitness program because after all a healthy body contributes to a healthy mind.

What brilliant end of year displays we had with The Pebbles Project in Stellenbosch on their 2 farms doing the Flairs Rope Skipping program. Fun was had throughout the year and we have loved contributing towards these bright and talented kids by changing lives through the organisation and proving that sport plays an integral role in academic and after school activities.
BLOMVLEI PRIMARY SUMMER DISPLAY 2017
Well done to the superstars at Blomvlei Primary who participated in their annual Summer Display on Tuesday, 2nd November 2017. The gymnasts did phenomenally with much improvements in their routines, performing their latest rope skipping skills and tricks taught by coaches Sadicka, Masi and Terrence. CLAREMONT HIGH SCHOOL- ROPE SKIPPING DISPLAY 2017
What a fantastic year we had coaching at Claremont High School. Thanks to coach Masi’s hard work, the gymnasts reaped their hard-earned medals by participating in their rope skipping summer display on Tuesday, 31st October 2017. All gymnasts did phenomenally, showcasing their raw talent and rope skipping skills.
Tembaletu Special School -Summer Display 2017
Once again, the gymnasts at Tembaletu Special School wowed school staff and spectators at their Summer Display on Tuesday, 30th October 2017, proving that having a disability does not limit you from reaching your full potential whilst performing physical activities. Well done to coach Terrence and coach Masi for their hard work, all gymnasts performed amazingly while showcasing their well-choreographed routines. WCGA COACH MASI
Our phenomenal Coach Masi got selected to be a WCGA Coach for the Rope Skipping Nationals that took place in Johannesburg in October. He has excelled in all he does and is the perfect role model to our youth. Well done Coach Masi, we are proud to call you our team member.
SOUTH ZONE ROPE SKIPPING RESULTS 2017
Well done to the seven rope skippers from the Flairs Rope Skipping Programs that participated in the SAGF South Zone Rope Skipping Competition on Monday 3 July 2017 at the Western Cape Sports School. The gymnasts were well prepared by their coaches and competed excellently with very strong competition among the groups, achieving the following results:

INTERNATIONAL JUDGE MASI
Congratulations Coach Masi who has qualified as an International Rope Skipping judge. Masi began his rope skipping journey in 2002 with no knowledge or skill. Rope skipping became his hobby and passion with a natural talent. He then started competing in 2005; completing all competitive levels and now manages his own Jump It Rope Skipping Academy which consists of talented youth from Khayelitsha who have been doing extremely well. We look forward to Judge Masi’s future judging endeavours.
